ABOUT THE JOB:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, structured, and therapeutic operation of an adolescent male residential facility (ages 13-18) for juvenile-justice involved youth. This role provides direct supervision to Youth Mentors, ensuring compliance with agency policy, program oversight, staff supervision, and day-to-day operations. The Shift Supervisor supports youth behavior change through the use of DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills teaching and is responsible for individual coaching as well as in a group format. The Shift Supervisor serves as the primary on-site supervisor during their shift. This position will also provide support and guidance to the Youth Counselors/ Mentors by being an example of professional leadership within the program.

- Perform all duties of a CDRC Youth Mentor at an advanced level
- Supervise, coach, and support direct care staff during assigned shifts
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and respond to call-outs and shift coverage needsEnsure adequate staffing levels and respond to call-outs and shift coverage needs
- Model appropriate behavior management, communication, and de-escalation techniques
- Participate in staff training, mentoring, and performance feedback
- Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly living environment at all times
- Monitor youth behavior and interactions, intervening as necessary to prevent incidents
- Ensure adherence to behavior management systems, incentive programs, and treatment plans
- Respond to crises, incidents, and emergencies in accordance with policy and training
- Approve and oversee room checks, head counts, and security procedures
- Review staff documentation for quality, accuracy, and compliance
- Report critical incidents to on-call administrators and follow escalation protocols
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of incident reports, logbooks, and shift summaries
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff, administration, probation, and external partnersCommunicate effectively with clinical staff, administration, probation, and external partners
- Provide shift briefings and ensure continuity of care between shifts
- Address youth and staff concerns in a professional and solution-focused manner
- Monitor daily schedules, activities, and programming
SCHEDULE AND RATE OF PAY:
- Wednesday to Saturday 11:00am-9:00pm (10-hour shift 4 days a week)
- 3-day weekend (Off Sunday, Monday and Tuesday)
- $22.95 per hour
- Overtime / Time and a half eligible
- Able to pick up additional hours if they become available
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Associate’s Degree (or 60 completed credits) - Required
- Minimum 1-year experience working with at-risk or court-involved adolescents in a Direct Care setting - Required
- Must have valid driver’s license to utilize a company provided work vehicle – Required
- Proven experience working in a residential treatment program - Preferred
- Supervisory and strong interpersonal skills - Preferred
