About This Position:
CJR is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Custodian / Janitor to join our team in Litchfield. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our residential facilities, buildings, and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning of residential cottages, common areas, and office spaces.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and maintain clean floors.
- Collect and empty trash and recycling.
- Service, disinfect, and restock restrooms, showers, and lavatories.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, walls, machinery, and equipment; polish metal fixtures as needed.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to ensure visibility and safety.
- Follow detailed cleaning schedules and quality control standards; complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
- Conduct routine building inspections and report any damages or non-functioning equipment promptly.
- Perform outdoor maintenance such as litter pickup, sweeping steps, and sidewalks.
- Support snow removal activities, including shoveling and spreading salt.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure optimal operation of facilities and equipment.
- Learn and assist with other maintenance tasks as needed.
- Exhibit professionalism, respect, and effective communication when serving staff and residents from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and a positive attitude in a collaborative environment.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory or management staff.
Schedule and Rate of Pay:
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM
- Total Hours: 40 hours per week
- Wage: $20.00 per hour
- Overtime: Eligible for time-and-a-half pay as applicable
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in general building maintenance
- Ability to safely operate various maintenance equipment
- Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and comprehend shop manuals and maintenance instructions
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license
